People often ask about the name Nerses. It was the first name of the photo studio's founder, Nerses Semerjian, who first learned the art of photography in Egypt, choosing the field because it was one of the few apprenticeships that fed the students. Some time after moving to Canada, he opened up the Studio on June 6th, 1966. Being able to speak five languages allowed Nerses to quickly establish ties with many local communities. Those ties carried over when his son Haig took over after Nerses' passing. Haig's wife, Cathy joined him in the professional photography business and their daughter, Catherine is carrying on the tradition. Nerses Photo Studio has always prided itself on the timeless tradition of producing high quality photography work and forging relationships with our customers that can last for decades, on top of our commitment to fun, high quality photography.
With over fifty years of experience and still going strong, we have seen and done it all, when it comes to photography. We have done weddings with two guests, and weddings with four hundred. We have done individual head shots and company photos with the entire staff and fleet of vehicles. We have touched up photos with minor scratches and added in family members. We have done formal family portraits and casual family gatherings, both on location and in Secret Cedars, our exclusive park. We have covered awards ceremonies, movie premieres, company anniversaries, any commemorative event you can name, we have photographed it.
